Finally, no rage or complaints inside Toro's locker room: on the contrary, both Zaccheroni and Cairo believe that the deserved draw collected in Reggio Calabria might be the turning point of the season, even though everybody hoped to grab the first win. "We are improving" Alberto Zaccheroni said. "We're not consistent yet, the bad position in the table makes everything more difficult, but after this performance I can say that we are on the right track. Sure, we need to improve and to find more continuity: that's what I expect on Saturday against Lazio".
Even though he couldn't hide a bit of disappointment, chairman Urbano Cairo echoed the coach's words and added: "The team was more balanced today, it was definitely an improvement. The roster is too large? I'm sure that Zaccheroni will make the best decisions. Sure, we could have won, no doubt about it. We must be more careful defensively, and more cynical offensively: today we had several chances and we didn't convert them. But I'm sure that soon things we go the right way, provided that Toro will always show this determination, and possibly even more".
The players also believe that Toro had their best outing of the season. "We played very well and created so many chances" Roberto Stellone said, "too bad we didn't win, I think we deserved it. But this is soccer: maybe against Lazio we'll shoot only once and we'll win…that would be ok for me, as we need these three points". Former Reggina defender Ivan Franceschini added: "We are growing, I'm very optimistic. This new 'Christmas tree' formation really helps us, as Fabio Gallo gives the defence a big helping hand".
