After a couple of much-needed days off, Torino will resume training tomorrow afternoon at the Centro Sisport. Following the devastating home defeat suffered on Saturday against Lazio, coach Zaccheroni and the players will have more than 10 days at their disposal in order to find the reasons of this huge crisis and prepare the home clash against Chievo, another team with plenty of problems: no need to say that it could be a key match for the Granata's future.
According to our coach, most of this work must be done on the psychological side: at the end of Saturday's match, Zaccheroni blamed "those 15 minutes of black-out" at the beginning of the second half, and pointed out that the Granata played a pretty good first part: "We had more ball possession, it's true that we didn't create any real scoring chance but in terms of personality and attitude I have to say that we played well. And the defence was almost perfect. Then we conceded that goal after only three minutes of the second half, it happens, but you can't fold like this: you have to react. Anyway I'm still confident: I wouldn't have accepted this job if I wasn't sure of the team's strength. But everybody must be aware of that, and after making that step we'll start collecting more points".
In the meantime, there's a Toro player who has a reason to smile: in fact, Italy coach Roberto Donadoni called Christian Abbiati for the European qualifiers against Ukraine and Georgia, which will take place on October 7th and 11th respectively.
