"Oscar Brevi is ready to replace Franceschini. "I still don’t know 100% if I will play or not. During the week the manager tried me out on left back. I train every week to be ready in case of a call from the manager” Oscar, you played in Palermo for six months, when you almost got promoted to Serie A. What did you get out of that experience? "It was a positive experience, we almost got promoted. Palermo fans are passionate, a bit like here in Torino. I remember that when we got back to Palermo airport at 3 am - after a defeat in the decisive game with Lecce, there were loads of people waiting for us and cheer us up".Do you fear Palermo forwards the most?"The Sicilian team are doing well in midfield and defense too. They will be a tough opponent but we need to get as many points as possible". Could Sunday’s game be a turning point?"It will be a difficult game to play away but we need to try to get points regardless of the team we play". You should make a better use of free spaces next Sunday, shouldn’t you?"Unfortunately we haven’t made a good use of the spaces on the pitch so far. We should be careful next Sunday and both try to use spaces better and to make the most of free kicks". What are Cairo and Zamparini personalities like?"Zamparini had to put together a team almost from scratch and so did Cairo. Zamparini managed to create a good club but it took him a few years to do it. After a few years of experience in Serie A Palermo have become one of the main teams in Italian football. The same happened to Torino as it is not easy to put together a new club and get promoted straight away. Not many teams managed to do that. Toro will need a few years too to get used to Serie A". Atalanta and Catania are doing and they haven’t changed many players. Maybe Torino have had too many changes this season. What do you reckon?"It’s too early to say. We need to wait until the end of the season. Both team haven’t changed much and are doing well but let’s wait and see what happens in the long term. We have many players and everyone needs time to settle in the team". Ilast friendly you played as left back. Does that position suit you?"I haven’t got any problems to play in that position. I have played in this position before". What are your thoughts on the fact that young players like Rosina, konan and Abbruscato aren’t at their best yet? "In negative situations like this young players suffer the most as they feel the pressure on them more than other experienced players. As soon as the team get out of the situation young players will give their best performances". Last night you were at Ferrini’s remembrance event. What were your feelings? "I felt so “small” next to those people who are the history of the club. I was impressed that Ferrini is still remembered so passionately, even after 30 years since he died. This must mean that he was a great person out of the pitch as well”.
