After celebrating the first win of the season, Toro resumed training today at the Centro Sisport in view of Saturday evening's away match against Cagliari.
Three players missed the session with minor injuries: Ardito is still suffering from his usual back spasms, Brevi has an ankle problem and Muzzi a light muscular injury that anyway shouldn't prevent him from being available for the Sardinia trip.
Two other sidelined players, Cioffi and Gallo, worked on their own: the former Mantova defender, who underwent surgery to his left cheekbone following Sunday's clash with Pellissier, worked in the gym and won't be available before three weeks, while the veteran playmaker is still recovering from a muscular problem: his conditions will be evaluated in the upcoming days.
Before the start of the training session, Toro third goalkeeper and talismanic locker room leader Alberto Fontana spoke with the press and revealed how important were for the players Zaccheroni's words after the match: "He told us that playing with this club is very easy if you have the right determination, which means that when you leave the pitch the jersey must have a different color because of your sweat. The coach has perfectly understood the real Toro spirit, and I'm sure that also the new players did".
Fontana also spent a few words for his colleague Christian Abbiati. "Speaking as a fan, I believe that Christian is the best goalkeeper Toro have ever had after Marchegiani. I was sure that he would have reacted after that bad start".
