Following the usual day of rest, Toro resumed training today at the Centro Sisport. As the players reached the pitch, they found an unpleasant surprise: in fact, the facility was guarded by several policemen, evidently called by the club in order to avert a possible reaction by the fans after Sunday's tough defeat in Palermo.
Even though there was absolutely no reason for such a deployment, the fans who attended the session didn't certainly hide their disappointment: the main targets of their shouts were Fiore, Pancaro and coach Zaccheroni, who was invited to give more room to the players who brought Toro in Serie A last season.
The difficult mood inside Toro's locker room was clearly witnessed by the statement defender Gianluca Comotto released in front of the press. "Nobody thought to be in a situation like this" he said, "Toro have what it takes to do well, but the results have been negative. There aren't good feelings inside the locker room: in these cases you can be either destructive or confident, and we definitely want to be confident. Sure, if we take a look at the table it's hard not to get depressed. But now we must stand up and fight".
Comotto also talked about the delicate situation of coach Alberto Zaccheroni: "It's not a matter of tactics, it's a matter of determination. Nobody is giving his best, especially the most experienced players, so we must adjust what's going wrong inside our heads and start playing with the real Toro spirit".
