Despite going close to the fourth victory in a row, and this time on the San Siro pitch against Milan, coach Alberto Zaccheroni still thinks that Toro must improve both on the mental and on the tactical side. "We should have been more courageous in the first half" he said after the match, "the respect for your opponent doesn't have to turn into fear. Before the match, I told my players that I wanted humbleness, solidarity and courage: we showed those qualities, but only in the second half. And we could have won".
Zac also explained both the reason of Toro's offensive struggles and the possible solutions: "Our strikers work really hard for the team" he said, "but most of our offensive plays start far from the opponent's box, and by consequence we're not unpredictable and fast enough in the last 16 metres. We must try to keep our defensive line as high as possible and start our offensive plays in the opposing team's half-court".
On his part, president Urbano Cairo couldn't hide his happiness for Toro's performance against a "special" opponent like Milan. "We went close to a great victory" he said, "in the first half we were too shy, but in the second Toro really made me proud. A brave team that played to win and created several scoring chances: that's the Toro I want. After that horrible start, we collected 16 points in 10 matches. The European Cups are a dream, our first goal remains the save".
