The deserved victory over Sampdoria finally brought a better mood inside Toro's locker room, and the Granata really needed it after a troubled week that culminated with Wednesday's protest organized by the Curva Maratona fans.

Alberto Zaccheroni, however, prefers to keep his feet on the ground. "I knew that my players were in a good shape" the Granata coach said after the match, "but in order to improve you also need to be mentally fit, and that's something you can reach only by collecting a series of positive results. However, we still have a lot of work to do: our play is not fluid yet, some players still keep the ball much longer than they should and there's not enough movement without the ball. Leaving Pancaro and Fiore out of the regular lineup was not a consequence of the protest: I needed a fast-running team and that's why I chose that starting eleven".

On his part, Urbano Cairo was radiant to say the least. "I'm really satisfied with the team's performance" the Toro president said, "the players were determinate and showed a great team spirit. I'm happy especially for Abbruscato, his entry was crucial. Zaccheroni's bench has always been solid, and neither me nor the players have never called into question his work. This win can be the turning point of our season, provided that we'll always play with this determination".

The Granata will resume training on Tuesady afternoon at the Centro Sisport in view of Sunday's clash with Atalanta. Toro will face the Orobici without a key player like Roberto Stellone, who will serve a one-round ban for collecting the fourth yellow card of the season, but things look much worse for the hosts: in fact, Atalanta will miss three suspended players, namely midfielder Donati, offensive midfielder Doni (the team's topscorer with 5 goals) and striker Zampagna.
