Toro win 8-0 in the midweek friendly

The usual midweek friendly has just ended: Torino defeated 8-0 local team Villafranca Piemonte with goals by Abbruscato (3), Oguro (2), Muzzi, Doudou and Lazetic.

Apparently, coach Alberto Zaccheroni started with most of the eleven he is intentioned to field next Sunday on the pitch of league co-leaders Palermo. In fact, Toro played the first half with this lineup: Taibi, Comotto, Brevi, Cioffi, Di Loreto, Balestri, De Ascentis, Ardito, Fiore, Muzzi, Abbruscato. The goals were scored by Abbruscato (hattrick) and Muzzi.

Abbiati, Pancaro, Barone, Rosina and Stellone were rested but will be available for the Sicily trip. The presence of Oscar Brevi means that most likely the veteran defender will replace suspended Franceschini in the middle of the defensive line, while the good performance of Elvis Abbruscato could give the former Arezzo striker a chance to start alongside Stellone.

In the second half, Zaccheroni fielded Taibi; Martinelli, Orfei, Doudou; Balestri, Music, Ardito, Gallo; Lazetic, Abbruscato and Konan, while Oguro and De Sousa entered a few minutes later. The final result was fixed by Doudou, Lazetic and Oguro, who netted the last two goals.
