Sembra essere completamente sfumata quella che poteva diventare una trattativa molto interessante per il Genoa. Jamie Vardy, che ha scritto una pagina leggendaria della storia della Premier League, aveva trovato un'accordo per vestire la maglia rossoblù, ma è stato Patrick Vieira a fermare tutto. Come riportato da Sport Mediaset il Genoa aveva convinto Vardy, ma è stato solo il 'no' dell'allenatore francese a far saltare la trattativa.
